After brilliant studies at the William Ponty Normal School, Assane Seye was assigned to Mali in the late 1930s. He quickly climbed the ranks by holding various positions:

He retired in 1973 and opened his law firm, which he named "Etude de Me Assane Seye, Avocat à la cour."
Known for his integrity, he defended numerous causes and excelled in memorable pleadings, inspiring a whole generation of lawyers.
In the early 1980's, he was joined by his son, Magatte Seye, whom he trained meticulously before handing over the administration of the firm to him.
